General Info

Capstone Project: Seniors will demonstrate their mastery of the subject matter covered in their three years in Information Processing. Each student will select and create a Business Website for a business that they are interested in owning or working for in the future. Via project components designed by the student, each student will demonstrate his/her knowledge of the software applications (Word Processing, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher, Graphics, Web Design, Excel, and Dynamic HTML), Internet skills, and critical thinking skills.

Students will prepare poster boards displaying their web documents and other documents created, by integrating the software applications listed above. Students will also give oral presentations to their peers, parents, and invited guests, during two final culminating activities: Technology Showcase and Pre-Tech Showcase.

Students will be given instructions (orally, written, and via school/class websites) that described the required components of the capstone project, with clearly stated expectations, milestones, and due dates. Students are expected to be in class everyday and take note regularly, so that they will be prepared to meet the minimum requirements for the Capstone Project.
All seniors are required to complete an individual Capstone Project and participate in the culminating activities. The Capstone Project grade will comprise a part of the final course grade.

Please Note: Students are expected to "dress up" for the Technology Showcase events.  No sportswear or sports shoes. The colors are royal blue, black, and white. Please be well-groomed.

Students must sign the Participants List and complete a Participation Form to acknowledge their comitment to the Technology Showcase events.

Students are also asked to return the Invitation Letter, signed by a parent/guardian, by April 17,2009 to indicate whether or not a parent/guardian will attend the main event on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 - 3:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m..
